DIY Autumn Leaves Shaker!

Picture
You will need the following materials:
  • One clear plastic bottle (recycle one from your bin!)
  • a nice handful of autumn leaves
optional:
  • paper plate/newspaper to make clean up easy
  • silk leaves for decoration
  • glue
Tip: It is better to find a bottle without ridges for better visibility, but if you are going to decorate your shaker either will work!

Lay out your the dried fall leaves and the bottles and start filling up the bottles with the leaves. This will be great fine motor practice for your child! Find out different way of putting leaves in the bottle, which leaves make the most sound, and how many leaves you need to make a great sounding shaker!

If you decide to decorate the outside, grab some silk leaves and simply glue them to the outside of the bottle. Does it change the sound of your shaker?

So much learning and creating will go on during the simple process of filling up the bottles, it will be a pure joy to watch!
